As well as writing How to Handle Living with Your Dog, Winkie also happens to be utterly brilliant at just about everything she does. She is funny, clever and witty, not to mention also being a wonderful cook! She is as warm and engaging in real life as you would expect from her lovely writing style, and her anecdotes ranging from working with Marco Pierre White, through to her time in recording studios cooking for Tina Turner (amongst others), becoming a rescue diver in the US and getting her PPL (Private Pilot's Licence) and much much more, are adored by all of us at Short Stack!
		www.herestheproof.co.uk This is the website for Here's the Proof, the home on the web to Gaynor Ridgway the most wonderfully pernickety proofreader! As well being a professionally trained proofreader she is a trained copy editor and copywriter. Nothing to do with proof reading (but merely as a matter of interest) she, like Winkie, is a culinary genius and her baking prowess frankly rivals Nigella's. She has an outstanding attention to detail and thus we are now outsourcing all our paperback proofreading to the glorious Gaynor. In case you are interested she is also phenomenally funny and has a fantastic turn of phrase, which means every communication is an absolute delight! Just so you know, if you spot a goof in anything Short Stack related it means that Gaynor hasn't been asked to work her magic on the wording in question, and we've winged it (and if there's a goof, we clearly haven't winged it very well)!
		www.blackfrogstudios.co.uk This is the website for BlackFrog Studios, the recording studio where Winkie's audio book was recorded. BlackFrog is a 24 track digital studio located in Thame (Oxon) just minutes from the M40. They work with bands, composers, voice over artists and of course authors and other audio book voice artists! The studio is perfect, great atmosphere, not at all intimidating and the engineer/producer we worked with was brilliant. The whole feel of their set up means that the recording process is relaxed and really enjoyable which suited Short Stack perfectly!

Now you may be wondering why we have a link to this site here, but the dog element of course means one thing... Winkie! This superb company also stocks other dog and cat related delights including books, and specifically including How to Handle Living with Your Dog. Also, rather excitingly, Winkie is going to be signing copies of her book on their stand at Crufts 2009.
